Vivekanand Uttar Buniyadi (secondary) and Uchchatar Uttar Bunyadi Vidyalaya  (higher secondary school) is a state recognised, residential and co-educational school with students from grades 9 to 12. The school is about 7 miles from Muni Seva Ashram by road, but in a beeline, the distance is less than 3 kilometers.  Since its inception in 1991 when it had only 30 students, the school has 275 students now, and this is expected to grow to 370 by the next academic year.

The students greatly benefit from residential schooling as most come from remote tribal areas of Gujarat where they have little or no access to electricity, running water and toilets.

With a 100% pass rate in the 12th grade, the school’s performance is at par with the best in the state.  But with many schools with international affiliations opening up in India, our students are somewhat at a disadvantage when they go for higher studies. The school wishes to introduce additional courses and facilities to help them bridge this gap and shape their lives and careers the way they want to.

For instance, an add-on course in agriculture is offered to teach modern ways of farming, dairy farming, and agro processing. This gives them the know-how and confidence to initiate and drive change in their communities.
